Let's not let anchor close
Last week, I read that Anchor was closing. Like many, I was really bummed to hear that since Anchor Steam is one of my favorite beers, I love the location, the brand, and the people who work there. Living on Potrero Hill for 30 years, I've spent many days at Anchor Taps with friends and family watching the Warriors, Giants, and Niners and drinking steam. My disappointment was quickly replaced with enthusiasm as I would love to be involved with the brand as an owner. I was bummed to hear that Sapporo had purchased the company in 2017 because I would have loved to put an investor group together to buy the company.
Well, that's what I'm doing now. If you love Anchor and wish to be involved in some way, please express interest by submitting your info. I'll keep you posted on progress as I dig into the details with people in the industry. If you want to collaborate on this effort, please let me know.
If we can manage to purchase Anchor, I would love to have live music at Anchor Taps, as a way to launch new artists. We have a great number of talented artists at HiFi Labs who would love to perform there. Let's make this happen and bring this innovative and iconic brand back to it's glory days.
